早稲田大学が加盟するU21(Universitas21)が、加盟大学の学部生対象に

Undergraduate Research Conference2012を早稲田大学で開催することになりました。

早稲田大学は、本カンファレンスに参加を希望する学生を募集します。

 

●U21 Undergraduate Research Conference 2012概要

U21に参加している世界１５ヶ国２３大学の学部生が、自らの研究成果を国際の場で発表する機会を
提供することを目的とした会議で2005年より年1回開催される。学生には約10 分間の口頭発表の機会
および、ポスターセッションへの参加が与えられる。

開催大学：早稲田大学

発表テーマ：Connecting to the Future

＊テーマに関する内容であれば、理系・文系を問いません。

 【プログラム内容】

・口頭プレゼンテーション、ポスターセッション（それぞれ異なるタイトルで発表）

・レセプション交流会

・フィールドスタディ（参加学生の参加は必須）

 ● 募集人数：3名

学生３名の内訳はプレゼンテーションセッション参加１名、ポスターセッション参加

１名とし、もう１名はどちらでも選択可能。

 ● 応募資格

・本学学部生正規生であること（３年生以上が望ましい）。

・参加グループ構成員全員が英語でコミュニケーションを取れること。

・学生は自ら参加を希望し、現地でのU21交流活動に積極的に参加する意思があること。

 ●応募条件

・出願者は申込時に本学教員による推薦状を留学センターに提出すること。

・選出された学生は原則として推薦状を書いた教員より発表に向けた指導を受けること。

・プログラム参加において、留学センターが実施している留学準備講座を必ず受講すること。

（詳細は参加決定者に後日連絡します。）

・プログラム参加において、授業履 修や研究指導等に支障がないこと。

（授業や学事を理由とした参加期間途中の辞退・中止は認められないので注意すること。）

・参加同意書記載事項に 同意し、署名の上、提出すること。（同意書書式は後日、応募者に直接配布する。）

・プログラム参加にあたり、参加期間中の不慮の事故や疾病をカバーする、早稲田大学指定の国内旅行保険に加入すること。

・プログラム終了後、参加報告書を作成し、留学センターに提出すること。

 ●参加費用：

無料

※プログラム期間中の宿泊費、朝昼の食費は早稲田大学が負担とする。

※上記参加費用とは別に、早稲田大学が義務づける大学指定の国内旅行保険加入料、
　　日本国内交通費およびその他所費用は各参加学生の負担とする。

 ●応募方法：

２．英文成績証明書1通

３．推薦状1通（ワード書式・言語自由）

Accepting Students to Participate at U21 Undergraduate Research Conference

 

As part of the U21(Universitas 21) that Waseda University is affiliated with, all affiliated Universities are giving opportunities to undergraduate students, to participate at the Undergraduate Research Conference 2012 held at Waseda University.

 

Waseda University is looking for applicants to participate in the conference.

 

●U21 Undergraduate Research Conference 2012 Outline This program started up in 2005 to give undergraduate students from 23 affiliated universities from

15 different countries, an opportunity to announce their research achievements in an international environment. The students will be given 10 minutes at the verbal presentation and the opportunity to participate at the poster session. (Language: English)

 

Date: July 1st (Sunday) 2012 - July 5th (Thursday) 2012

Venue: Waseda University

Announcing subject field: “Connecting to the future”

・Any subject is acceptable if in line with the theme

 <Program Contents>

・Verbal Presentation and Poster Session(All students will present

individually.)

・International Exchange Reception

・Field Study (A requirement for those who wish to participate.)

 ●Number of people: 3

・The breakdown for the 3 students is as follows; 1 student participates at the presentation session,

1 student participates at the poster session and the remaining 1 student may select from the 2 options.

All participants will have different titles with their own presentations.

 ●Qualification Requirements

・All participants must be able to communicate with each other in English.

・The students must have their own will to apply and have the desire to participate at the U21 exchange activities.

・The students must be a regular undergraduate student (3rd year or above preferred) from Waseda University.

 ●Conditions

・Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from University Faculty to the CIE with their application.

・The applicant should receive guidance from the Faculty who wrote their letter of recommendation.

・If you participate in the program, you must take courses that prepare for Studying Abroad conducted by the CIE.

(We will contact you with more information if you are selected.)

・Upon joining the program there must be no interference regarding your registered classes and/or research guidance.

(Please note that withdrawing or canceling your participation midway due to classes or school reasons is not acceptable.)

・A consent form must be agreed on and signed. (The consent form will be directly distributed to the applicants at a later date.)

・In order to cover any unforeseen accidents or illness during the program period, it is necessary to join an overseas traveling insurance specified by Waseda University.

・A report must be written and submitted to the CIE after the event.

 ●Fees:

Free

*Accommodation during the program, breakfast and lunch will be borne by Waseda University.

*Besides the mentioned expenses above, the student is responsible for covering costs of joining domestic travel insurance and any expenses from and to your home.

 ●How to Apply:

1. An application form (word format) *please submit 2 photos 2. Through an English transcript 3. Through a letter of recommendation (free form - word format)
